Main

The chemistry graduate student association (CGSA) is focused on improving the graduate school experience and providing opportunities that prepare chemistry students for their future. We accomplish this mission through inviting a variety of seminar speakers, establishing community outreach opportunities, planning social events and much more.

The CGSA consists of nine elected officials, the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and five representatives for each discipline of chemistry (inorganic, organic, analytical, physical and biochemistry). These nine motivated graduate students work together to create new and exciting opportunities for the UIC chemistry graduate students. However, even graduate students that are not elected officials can still be involved. Our two subcommittees, graduate women in chemistry (GWiCh) and the safety officers committee (SOC), are a great way for anyone to become more involved in the department. Check out their pages on this website for more information.
The focus of our group will always be about the UIC chemistry graduate students and we are always looking for better ways to help the department. Therefore, if you have any comments, suggestions or questions, please contact us through any of our social media shown below.
