About
Meet another of our members at large, Arephin. He’s a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Trenary’s surface science group. His research spans the traditional areas of physical and analytical chemistry, and the chemistry of molecules on surfaces. The structure and chemistry of solid surfaces is a theme that unites all the different fields. Specific areas are related to important technological fields such as heterogeneous catalysis, growth of thin films, nanotechnology, and development of alternative energy sources. More specifically, Arephin studies molecules dancing on highly ordered metal surfaces using infra-red light.
